Who needs a pool when you can swim in the beautiful fresh water lakes of the Dordogne ?
Lake of St Saud la Coussiere
5 miles from the house is the lake St Saud la Coussiere near the village of St Saud.
Excellent for swimming , from a sandy beach,with a life guard present for the children’s area. There is also an adventure playground and a bar/restaurant near the lake. Toilets and showers facilities are also available near the lake.
A lovely place to picnic at the tables under the trees especially as the sun goes down over the lake.
Lake of St Estephe
6 miles away is the larger, popular lake of St Estephe. Here there is a beach area supervised by life guards, free loan of canoes and kayaks, a children’s play area, picnic tables under the trees,cafes, exercise machines, marked footpaths and an ingenious way to cross the water! You could also take a short , shady nature walk to the Rocking Rock which stands beside a gurgling stream.
Tourist information office, toilets and showers are also available.
